Bulk Castings

Worm castings are the rich digested soil that worms leave behind (essentially worm poo). It is a 100% organic form of fertilizer composed of high levels of plant available nutrients, active soil bacteria and microbes.

Worm Castings can be used at all stages of plant growth. Ideally the castings should be mixed into the soil during garden bed preparation at a rate of 4-6kg per m2, a handful or two should be placed in the hole when planting and lastly sprinkle a few handfuls around the base of your plant during fruiting or flowering. 

Worm castings aids plant growth. Using castings results in healthier plants with stronger root systems that are more resistant to disease and pests.

Worm castings makes soil more absorbent. This makes moisture more available to plants and prevents soil from completely drying out.

Worm castings are safe on all types of plants, trees, fruits and vegetables. Castings won’t burn your plants and can be used regularly. Castings are odourless and suitable for outdoor gardens, potted indoor plants and everything in between.

We offer both screened and unscreened castings in bulk bags. We have 2 sizes to suit your needs, a 0.4m3 bulk bag and a 1.0m3 bulk bag. These sizes are suited to larger scale gardeners or those in the nursery/agricultural sectors.

Screened castings is processed through a trommel with a 25mm screen, this breaks up the lumps making the castings friable, removes any sticks, stones and any other debris that may have entered the worm farms through feeding. Screened castings is ideal for wholesale nurseries as the castings will blend into existing potting mixes well resulting in reduced fertiliser requirements and stronger plants.

Unscreened or raw castings is a more cost effective solution for those who plan to use the castings for soil rejuvenation where tilling or cultivation will be able to break up any lumps and mix into the existing soil. 

Ute, trailer and truck loads - When available, we offer bulk loads of unscreened castings for collection by trailer, ute or alternatively we can deliver up to 4m3 to you in our truck. 

Prices are: $200 per loader bucket (0.75m3 approx.), $50 per tractor bucket (4 x tractor buckets equal 1 loader bucket). Delivery is quoted per order. Please contact us to check for availability and to arrange either pick up or delivery from our farm.                              (Please note: Our equipment is not fitted with scales so we are unable to provide the accurate weight of the load, we will take this into consideration when loading your vehicle.)
